There she worked with many prestigious string quartets including Borromeo String Quartet, Bretano String Quartet, Miami String Quartet, and Tokyo String Quartet.
She has also been selected to perform in the master classes for Sylvia Rosenberg, Lawrence Dutton, Robert McDonald, Robert Mann, David Geber, and American String Quartet.
Lucy Huang is an active performer, teacher, and concert violist and violinist in the New York.
Ms. Huang began studying the violin & Viola at the age of five at Shenyang Conservatory in China where she received many awards, including the Grand prize for the school’s chamber competition.
Since 2000, Ms. Huang has been a scholarship student of Michael Tree and Karen Dreyfus at the Manhattan School of Music, where she received her Bachelor of Music Degree.
As an active orchestral performer, Ms. Huang has played under the batons of Kurt Masur, Gorge Manahan, Kenneth Kiesler, and Joanne Falletta. She served as principal violist of MSM Symphony, Philharmonia, and Chamber Sinfonia.
Ms. Huang has also participated in numerous summer festivals including the Taos School of Music and Bowdoin international music festival.
Being an educator since 2000, has taught several hundred students. Ms. Huang always inspires her students to develop their creative ideas, confidence, and independence through music. She believes that flexible teaching approach is very important since every student is unique and has a different learning style.
